	Journalist Judy Broadbent started Custom PR Ltd in April 2002.
	Judy in her own words, works 24/7. "Before I took the plunge and opened my own company I worked as a senior journalist. Apart from the day job I had been writing for magazines for years and I loved the buzz I got from seeing my name in national publications. It was a conscious decision to go self-employed as a publicist and marketing person. I knew I was wasted working for someone else."

	"Amongst the national journalists I had gained a reputation for integrity, being honest and delivering to tight deadlines - and I had a nose for a top story. Often I would have editors calling me asking if I would cover a breaking story. They only had to ask once and I was out there! Of course it's always a gamble going on your own - but the public relations and marketing work came flooding in. As well as writing for magazines and national newspapers I became involved with several famous people."
