Frazer Hines is a British actor best known for his roles as Jamie McCrimmon in the BBC tv series Doctor Who and Joe Sugden in Emmerdale .

In July 2010 He revealed that he had been battling bowel cancer for eleven years. He kept the illness a secret out of fear of finding that he would no longer be offered work, but since been given the all clear is promoting awareness of the illness through Cancer Research and the Bobby Moore Cancer Foundation.
